I’m Scott Olson, President of MindLink Marketing, a serial entrepreneur and marketing executive. Stan Carlberg, Content Marketing Manager
I’m Stan Carlberg, the Content Marketing Manager at MindLink Marketing. At MindLink, I am responsible for the strategic development and management of web content for a variety of MindLink’s clients.
I bring more than 15 years of corporate communications, marketing and media relations experience working primarily for technology organizations, most recently iovation Inc. (Portland, OR) and RagingWire Enterprise Solutions (Sacramento, CA). I have extensive experience creating and steering the execution of marketing communications and media programs to generate brand awareness, build and strengthen customer relations, support business initiatives and increase sales revenues.
I have worn many hats throughout my professional career including journalist, editor, cartoonist, copywriter, public relations manager, marketing manager, and now content marketing manager. During this time, I’ve been very fortunate to develop my skills in a broad range of communications disciplines including web content, blogs, whitepapers, case studies, marketing materials, web and traditional advertising, co-marketing campaigns, press releases, event coordination, project management, brand development, and customer relations. In addition to writing for major daily newspapers including the San Jose Mercury News and being a contributor to a variety of magazines and blogs, I have helped several technology startups gain national recognition through strategic marketing, PR, media and online activities.
I hold a B.A. in Journalism from San Jose State University with a minor in Creative Writing.

Scott Olson’s experience includes leading marketing at iovation and positioning the company as a leading innovator and thought leader in device reputation and solutions leveraging device fingerprinting technology. Before that, he led the marketing team at Mirage Networks a provider of Network Access Control solutions. Mirage Networks was purchased by Trustwave. Prior to Mirage Networks, Scott ran marketing at WholeSecurity, a behavioral endpoint security solution provider and one of the first providers of an anti-phishing solution, which was sold to Symantec in 2005. In addition to a marketing leadership role at NetSolve and founding and serving as the CEO of productmarketing.com, Scott co-founded WheelGroup Corporation, which produced the first commercially viable Intrusion Detection System (IDS), known as NetRanger. In 1998, WheelGroup was acquired by Cisco Systems and NetRanger became the backbone of their IDS technology.
Across these roles, Scott has personally driven the messaging strategy and focused on building through leadership in new markets. He has contributed articles to major publications like ComputerWorld and has spoken at events like RSA, Networld Interop, Secure World, and Digital ID World. In addition he has guest lectured on entrepreneurship at the University of Texas at Austin.
Scott started his career as an early member of the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team, where he tracked hackers and protected, tested and monitored Air Force sites. He holds a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2007 Scott received the Distinguished Young Alumni award from the Duke University Pratt School of Engineering. He also held a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from 2002-2008.
